I figured that had to be the case since it was always described as a 12-story building despite the renderings always showing 10 stories.

Post Centennial may not be a high rise but its looking like one of the best additions to the cityscape during this entire boom. Is there any retail in this project?

Post Centennial is certainly a nice addition for Atlanta. I'm increasingly less concerned about new high-rises in Atlanta than I am regarding cohesiveness of low to mid-rise buildings along main roads and improved bike/ped/streetscaping, throughout.

Hard Rock

I don't remember where it was being discussed but I heard that the Hard Rock Hotel / Castleberry Park will break ground this month.

Do you mean "when" it was discussed? Because groundbreaking has been discussed in July 2016 and Feb. 2017. Its the Eviva of hotels.

No I mean when it was discussed more recently on this forum. Someone brought up the fact that no work had been done on the site for several months despite having held a groundbreaking ceremony.

You missed the point. This is another "believe it when it happens" projects. Perhaps they did a wait and see with the recent casino bill in the legislature to see if they could capitalize on that and turn this into one of their casino properties. Who knows.

I seriously doubt that the casino bill had anything to do with this hotel. Remember that they announced a previous hotel proposal back in 2007 across from the aquarium. From looking at their website, they just appear to be in a bit of expansion mode. But yes I totally get the skepticism given how long thie site has been dormant.

M-man you and I are on the same page. The Hard Rock site had ZERO to do with the possibility of a casino. Actually the casino would have hurt the chances because of increased competition. I have zero skepticism this project is a done deal. Invest Atlanta and Development Authority if Fulton County are giving grants and tax forbearance to land this project. Also, this part of Atlanta has economic incentives from the Federal Government to lures jobs to economically depressed parts of the city. Net, net this will move forward....

Anthem signs lease to build 21-story IT services hub at Tech Square

"Anthem Inc. (NYSE: ANTM) announced Thursday long-term plans to locate its 1,800-employee IT center in a new 12-story building in Tech Square.

The Fortune 500 health insurer has signed a built-to-suit agreement with Portman Holdings, which will develop the 352,000-square-foot building near Georgia Tech in Midtown. Anthem's center will rise at the corners of 4th and Peachtree streets. It will employ 3,000 people and create 1,800 new jobs."

Yeah we knew Anthem IT was coming to midtown, just didn’t know where. Still have fingers crossed for AIG and/or Amazon. Either would likely boost another development nearby. 1105 West Peachtree would be great to get off the ground. Anything that might get 1125 Peachtree rumbling again too would be amazing. That site has been quiet for too long.
