They just got a land development permit, so I guess they'll start on the site work soon.

So as someone who doesn't know much about any of this - do steps like this make it significantly more likely that this project will actually get off the ground?

Yes, because there is a cost associated with acquiring the permit.

Demo permit was issued yesterday and I saw crews doing what look like sewer work in front of the old post office. They had several lanes closed on West Peachtree. We could see this one starting as soon as next week.

It's going to be fun watching this one go up. I can't wait to see how much they will market and sell the apartments for.

The developer just paid an additional $100k in permitting fees in the past day. Also I've seen people walking the site every day this week. Any day now.

Its getting harder and harder to not get my hopes up about this one. Really seems like they are full steam ahead.

These folks are for real, I got excited as soon as they paid a record breaking price for the site. This should not be compared to Opus in any way at all.

That Rockefeller name inspires a lot of confidence. I really hope this project is a huge success for them, and they and other NY developers invest more heavily in Atlanta.

Are they taking pre-sales for the apartments?

I pick at people who are obsessed with tall buildings here like it is tied to their self esteem but this is pretty cool to see moving forward.

Does anyone have like an "empty/unused/parking lot" index? Would be cool to watch those lots get gobbled up

I still think our next BIG BOY will be downtown

Here’s hoping they want to add a few more in Atlanta, too.
