good news about Jacksonville, but I think most of us saw this coming.
they just need a new/improved convention center next to the train station.
also there is lots of empty parking lots nearby ready for development.

about the WPB station , it needs a bridge across US1.

^^^^^

Funding is currently the process for the tri-rail.

Right now, getting the capital to build is is the biggest priority. They seem to be in a hurry too about it.

In terms of the project, its not overly expensive, and the capacity for it in terms of projected riders will be very low.

Okay, so if I get that article right, TriRail needs to pay $48 million for their share of the downtown station, $20 million for upgrades to the track leading up to the station, and $1 million to tie in their tracks with AAF's.
I had thought it was odd how TriRail's platform was always included in the rendering even though there wasn't any talk yet of splitting the costs. I do think it is strange that AAF gets to plan an extravagant station design (more costly) and then compel the transit agency to go along with it. I like the station, but it's cool looks do little financial good to TriRail. Instead, all the profits from the stores and office space would go to AAF. Most customers going through that station will probably be TriRail commuters. That is why this station is poised to make so much more money. Will AAF charge a user fee for TriRail, or will TriRail get to own their own platform and tracks? AAF should not charge a user fee, because trirail will add so much value to the AAF properties (probably more than the express trains will).

There is no room for Tri-Rail to have it's own tracks hence they are using the FEC/ AAF tracks. Honestly I think AAF is trying to gouge Tri-Rail knowing full well they can't come up with that kind of money in less than 2 months.

Martin And Indian River County Vote To Spend Millions In Fight Against All Aboard Florida

Quote:
Residents of the Treasure Coast are upset about All Aboard Florida’s plan to run dozens of trains every day between Miami and Orlando without stopping in their area, and now their leaders are taking action.

Yesterday, Indian River County voted to spend up to $2.7 million to fight All Aboard Florida (that’s 1% of the county’s budget). A separate vote was held yesterday in neighboring Martin County, where commissioners approved spending $1.4 million to fight the plan, bringing the total to $4.1 million.

Site work is already underway on stations in Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, where the plan has been well received.

The Palm Beach Post reports that the wording of Indian Rivers’ resolution was left intentionally vague to allow for a variety of uses, including lobbyists, lawsuits and environmental studies.
