That's a hefty set of ramps - their caissons could have been ...... misconstrued or misrepresented.

There might be some foundation elements that can be reused, but I doubt the tower caissons are in place.

Good metaphor, also I was only kidding my point was caissons aren't likely to have been drilled for a tower that probably wasn't even completely designed at the time.

Wolf Point, 350 N Orleans Update - November 1, 2013
Site mobilization: Clark/McHugh will begin to prepare the site for construction. Among other things, this work will include installation of fencing, barricades, and temporary signage, along with the movement of equipment to the site.

Cool! Looks we've got another construction start on our hands.

That's an amazing 1925 photograph george. Is the tallest building the old Morrison Hotel?

Didn't snap a photo, but bobcats and an excavator are onsite, and the landscaping along with the portion of the parking lot closest to the river are in the process of being torn up already.

Are they going ahead with all three towers, I'm a Pelli fan. I like the designs.

No, this work is just for Phase 1; the apartment tower on the western portion of WP. Phase 2 includes the tallest tower but has not yet been submitted for final approval.

My guess is that if they build the residential tower, the other towers will have an easier go at it; sort of like a domino effect.

I'm really excited about this and what's going on across the river. These projects will greatly alter the look and feel of that specific area.

I'm guessing bulkhead or shoreline stabilization for the whole site though?

Plus, they can start monetizing an apartment tower a lot faster than anything else. And 12 month leases are more flexible for them. A lot of benefits of starting with the apartment tower just from a business standpoint, regardless of any logistical benefits.

There was a status hearing court date earlier this week in the frivelous lawsuit against Wolf Point.....anybody know what happened?

Can't wait til that garbage case gets tossed.......would be great if the city goes after Riverbend condo association for legal feels, bankrupting the association, and the majority of angry 'reasonable' condo onwers there (who already are losing money on their overpriced condos due to view loss - which isn't legally theirs) rise up with pitchforks over the plaintiffs' silly move....

I'm guessing it has been tossed. Drove past this morning to see more equipment and activity on site

that is a good question as to whether the shoreline of the whole thing is secured first. I would assume so

I understand why some residents might be mad about losing the river view but isn't also great to (hopefully one day) have such a development in front of you?

What I'm trying to say is that they will be trading green apples for red apples. Same thing, but with a different color and flavor.

We're looking at five new towers around the area if all comes through, I can't help but expect how magnificent this entire area will look in a not-too-distant future. They gotta' relax a little bit.
