There are dozens of mortgage or equity groups out there providing hundreds of millions to keep the booms going. Preconstruction sales is the deciding factor whether a project move forward into construction. You guys are too concerned about some completely arbitrary, overly ambitious targets set 5 years ago.
A few points of clarification:

-Fortress hasn't developed any building that I am aware of. They have been involved as a financing partner in some completed projects. They have not been the developer on these projects. The difference in roles is important.

-"Shady" could be an adjective used to describe many development companies. However, I would argue that not a single other developer have a CEO (Jawad Rathore) and CFO (Vince Petrozza) that have been banned for life by the OSC and MFDA and fined millions of dollars. There's levels of shadiness.

I believe you've raised these same points/clarifications and concerns in all of your posts , 2 seperate project threads now. Can you offer any other insight into the projects involved? I appreciate your contributions to the discussions and hope to here about more up to date and current information.

Well, the boys were sure ripping up the foundation/basement with abject vigour. They appear to be about 1/2 done.

The crews onsite seem to be reticent about ripping out the basement walls on the south and west sides. ( . . as far as I can tell.)

Would or could they leave them in?

I believe they will shore first then remove the walls. Otherwise the City sidewalks would collapse.

Those sidewalks aren't in the best shape anyway. Having them collapse might be an improvement.

The streets themselves are probably a little more worthy of not having collapse at this moment.

There was a street collapse as part of the new Women's hospital in Winnipeg, maybe two years ago. Not sure if it was pre or post shoring, or what the exact situation was. But the street was closed for a period of time to repair. Then of course the new hospital was damaged to the tune of millions by arson a short while later.

Passing the CP site every day - and by no means an Occupational Health & Safety expert - but they don't exactly seem concerned about safety... I watched a bobcat basically teetering at the east edge of the pit... the wall isn't shored in any way, & there are no formal barricades around the pit (just obstacles place around the pit: e.g. a dozen or so I-beams... which are also sitting near the eastern edge of the pit... a heavy load on soil next to an unshored pit? Does that seem safe?).

I'm likely missing something - but the Ag Place site seemed to have more safety systems in place as they were doing excavation work.

haha Usually if something looks unsafe, it probably is. Especially heavy equipment next to a large hole.

There is a sign on Victoria Avenue westbound east of Albert that states "Two-way traffic December 7th."

Would that be CP-related?

Quite a bit of equipment on site as per Twitter. They seem to like to post short videos of the action. Linking for those interested:
