My city cheated on me! Somebody else took photos of it! (aka Novo Hamburgo by Sapox)

Hello folks. Some of you might have seen my latest threads with panoramas of my city, Novo Hamburgo, as well, as the video I made of it.

Anyway, at SSC there are 2 more forumers from my city, and one of them is an excellent photographer, and posted a thread with several street level pics of Novo Hamburgo, focusing a lot on old german houses.

Enjoy

yes, yes, exactly. Southern Brazil to be more exact. 45km north of Porto Alegre.

check these two threads (my photos) for some panoramas of the city.

in one of the threads, I also explain to a german forumer the history of the city and german colonization in Brazil (which unlike what he thought, took place in the 19th century, long before WW2)

with or without global warming?

cuz this seems to be the warmest winter ever. In fact, incredibly, autumn was much colder this year than the winter. I bet spring will also be colder.

the weather is kinda humid most of the year. Very hot summers, good chilly but not VERY cold winters. In winter, cold fronts come from Antartica and have dry air, so usually, the clearest days in winter will also be the coldest. Thus, very clear days when its cold, means lack of snow.

But we do have snow here (altitude only 10 meters above sea level) like once every 10 years. In higher areas of the state (like 800 meters above sea level) it snows a few times a year, and above 1500 meters you can have quite some snow accumulation.

Rain is spread equaly along the year, unlike most of tropical Brazil, where you have rainy summers and dry winters, and not much temperature difference.

There are reports by european immigrants back in the 19th century, of BLIZZARDS in my state, in the higher areas, with snow accumulation of up to 2 meters deep!!!! Well... I dont think we had such blizzards since the end of the 19th century.
