Went in to 3 Eau Claire sale centre today and asked about ground breaking. They said in June but could not give me a definitive date. I think probably the date is weather dependant.

^^Next time you walk into the sales office for 3EC, ask if they'll add another 5-6 floors! LOL

They told me the ground breaking ceremony would take place in June and now we are almost into August. No sign of anything happening.

Here is a rendering of 3 Eau Claire in an ariel view.

that render sells me on this tower. it would look great being unique to Calgary/any Canadian cities skyline. it has lots of impact and a grab you in your face kind of style. love it or hate it, it would/will have that going for it.

The shape is definitely growing on me, but the podium still seems way out of pre-portion IMHO.

According to this blog, Phase 1 is 70% sold and ground breaking ceremony should be early August.

I'm wondering about this one, wonder if they're going to change the design a bit. Love that photo... All those Deadly Shadows! LOL

From the Calgary construction thread. I also heard from another source that this one is very close.

Really intrigued by it too

I've heard this one is very close, in that the BP is just on hold while a few details are sorted out.

It's going to be fun watching this one get built. Whether one likes or dislikes the tower, it's certainly unique, and the construction will be interesting to watch.

I'm thrilled for Edmonton on the tall proposal, hope it happens, but I hope it goes through a design change. Tall does not = quality. Love 3EC or hate it, at least it's design is interesting. I actually really like this tower.
