That's a loaded question, because the answer changes weekly. Pretty much every week multiple new projects begin the various stages of approval through groundbreaking. Much is
mid-rise residential, placed on the light rail lines of Metro Salt Lakes enviable mass transit. Downtown Salt Lake City covers a large area, but it's density is only over the past few years
experiencing an historic boom. It's streets are the widest of North America's CBD's and it's blocks are the largest. In many ways this is now being used to it's advantage, creating stunning
inner block projects and excellent streetscape. Also, the unusual width of the CBD streets has led to the ability to create mass transit along with an accompanying list of additional options
such as wide sidewalks, street dining, attractive landscaping, auto access, and dedicated cycle lanes. All of this can be accomplished on a typical CBD street. There has been a continual flow
of major development even through the great recession, which increases Salt Lake's 24/7 options as each season comes and goes. Now that the recession is ebbing, the boom pace of
development has shifted into an even higher gear.
The ongoing push since the Olympics has been moving Salt Lake City forward as an international destination. This is easily becoming accomplished because of it's huge ski/tourist business
and general four season outdoor lifestyle, located so close to it's major airport and it's CBD.

Below, the recently completed City Creek Project. Ongoing, would be the current Utah Performing Arts Center Project, which is to the immediate south of City Creek below and this thread
covers. Upcoming over the next few weeks, will be the mega Convention Center Hotel, located within steps to the West of the City Creek Center. The local forum is now anxiously awaiting the
exact site pick, and the design specs. All are hoping this will be a sleek, new tallest.
The entire greater metro, from north to south is walled by spectacular mountains, interspersed with large lakes and resevoirs. Their close proximity to the International Airport and the
limitless activities they provide are helping to make Salt Lake City and it's CSA a world mecca for economic growth and tourism.
