Sigh. So I guess we better enjoy this last "very tall" building going up these next three years. Parcel F still holds some hope and I believe a site near the shorter Oceanwide Center tower (the upcoming Waldorf Astoria) is zoned for a "pretty tall" building. I think that parcel is currently occupied by GG University in in my opinion, an "ugly" structure.

The tower which the Waldorf will occupy--at 636 ft--is part of the Oceanwide Center project which is made up of 2 towers and is going up simultaneously (i.e. now). In fact, they seem to be excavating the foundation of that tower before the taller tower.

Once these 2 are completed, Parcel F, if it proceeds soon, will probably be the tallest going up for quite a while. While some "pretty tall" towers are planned for "the Hub"--in the vicinity of the Market/Van Ness intersection--none would be taller than the one planned for Parcel F.

^^I didn't realize they were drilling the caissons not only to the bedrock but as much as 60 feet into the rock. This baby probably won't sink.
