I really want to like this one but I can't help but feel that it's a total snooze fest. Compared to the adjacent towers this one just falls flat. I don't understand the interaction with the base and the rest of the tower and the holes punched into the building really bother me, I think I would like it so much more without them. I guess not every tower needs to be a masterpiece and the rest of the Hudson Yards towers are stunners so it could be worse.
I would love to hear other opinions on this tower!

Indeed. A very large chunk of skyscrapers for Manhattan. As an excercise, if you look at a photo from late 90's from the Twin Towers obs deck facing North (towards midtown West), and look at that very same perspective via 1 WTC obs deck now, in 2019, you can the impact of this vast growth. Everything West of MSG, a lot of it is new. From 30th Street all the way up to 65th Street. Ton and tons of skyscrapers/high rises.
Midtown East is a little hard to notice due to the canopy hiding a lot of the growth unless it breaches the plateau.
Similar exercise for DoBro, Jersey City and LIC, late 90's versus now. Hell, for those three areas, 2008 vs now. Huuuuggeee difference.
