I think somebody should post this in the main forum threads. In at least two of three of them. This is big news. This paint job is finally going to put Denver on the map. I think we should change our state quarter - this building needs to be on it.

Hey, for skyline enthusiasts like me who enjoy taking pictures of the skyline from different vantage points, this is indeed big news. Not since the re-cladding of the Colorado State Bank building has something of this magnitude happened in this immediate vicinity. Ironically, the old facade on CO State Bank and 1660 Lincoln were two of the most horrifying facades I've seen. Glad to see some major investment being made into this building, both inside and out. Piecemeal improvements to the skyline in desperate need of modernization... I'm digging it.

If you consider painting a building concrete gray to be either an improvement or a modernization, sure.

I think the new paint job actually looks pretty good.

And really, the only big improvements to our skyline currently underway are the confluence and 1114 15th street. Denver is going to look beautiful from the west side of town once those buildings are completed

By Denver standards, it's quite the improvement. I'll take it versus what we had before.

You're right. So much more modern.

Making the skyline grayscale really doesn't prove your point. While 1660 Lincoln is just one building, the verdict so far is that it looks improved with the new paint job. While still a drop in the bucket for the skyline view, it will have a bigger impact when viewed from the streets as a downtown pedestrian. I already like the way the "new" Colorado State Bank facade looks in both my close-up photos and skyline shots, so I'm glad to see us moving in the same direction with 1660 Lincoln. Now if we could just "grayscale" everything that has been build in Lodo, CPV, Highlands, RiNo, and various other neighborhoods - perhaps Denver would have a chance to change and diversify the architectural color palette we seem to be stuck in; everything built here within the last 20 years looks as though it was all designed by the same architect.

I like the refresh gray better than the earth tone tan.
