I would like to see the last and tallest tower (37 floors) go taller. It would make the group of towers look more impressive.

Waterfront Square. Having the one tall building in the "back" by the road would look better. Also, give it some setbacks or something. It's just a rectangular box now.

Now for the WTC of Philadelphia, I suggest a new design. Go over to "Projects & Construction" and look at the thread on Istambul, Turkey. The rendering of "Diamond of Istambul" would be a great proposal for our WTC. That one would look great along the waterfront. And by all means, a tower for a hotel/condo.

Well, I couldn't get to the Phillyblog link above, but as far as WTC goes I ride down Delaware Avenue every night and I haven't seen anything going on at that site.

They are now placing the molds for the 8th floor of the north Waterfront Square tower.

The Philly WTC site is on the west side of Columbus Bvd, its the block that contains the very large American Flag mural.

I figured it was on the the west side of the street. That big complex as designed would look silly right on the water.

I don't think this project will ever see the light of day but if it does it would fit in much better on the banks of the Schuylkill river than on Columbus BLVD.

I disagree. The WTC is for importing/exporting related businesses and should be at Philly's front door which is the Delaware River. Most of the Schuylkill River waterfront isn't accessible and is more residential.

I don't like the Diamond. I would cry if that ever ended up in Philly.

They need to just redo the whole thing.

They showed this project on Fox29 this morning. when viewed from the hellicopter the space around this project looks much smaller. The main thing they were doing there story on was that nightclub barge that sinking into the delaware right next to the first building going up. The old hooters about a block down is finally going to be removed soon, i just hope for the sake of people planing on moving into waterfront in next year or so that they move out, dismantle, blow up that ugly barge before then.

And they are placing the molds for the 9th floor. Starting to look tall to me.

No, just north of the BFB. Around Spring Garden Avenue.

The first time I went to the Waterfront Square site I thought there wasn't enough room for the other 3 towers. Each of these buildings isn't real large, square foot area-wise. There is a general layout plan hanging on the fence outside of the site.

Yeah, I agree with buildup on this. The other three towers don't have setbacks -- they are straight up. The footprint at the base of the last three is not as broad as the two under construction now.

It sure does look like they'll have trouble squeezing all those buildings into that little space though. But I'm sure they will -- that's why they are architects and engineers and I'm not.

I have to say the tower along the street is wider than the others but is just as thin. It's good that this building has a few more floors of parking under it so your view won't be the warehouse/garages across the street. Hopefully in time they will be torn down for some other development.
