fixed that for you

On the other hand, quite a lot of 6-12 storey buildings were built during the time I lived in Hamilton, and there are a lot more on the way. In many ways this is better than a a few more 25 floor commie blocks.

That second Hammer shot is awesome.

Decades is right. Our last scraper was 1991, phase 2 of CIBC. Unless you count Spallaci on King East at 14 floors, it would been noticed on the first shot if built when taken

So then in all fairness, would you say Las Vegas has a skyline?

My old dentists office is still one of the tallest in that pic =D

If you want to get technical, we haven't changed since we built Commerce Court 1-2 in 93' and that still didn't even eclipse our tallest which was built in the 70s

Maybe Stinson should have built that pyramid, just to make a point lol

Hamilton's tallest is taller the Ottawa's tallest. Ottawa does not look like a million + skyline.

besides you have double the population, so you better have more skyscrapers. I would guess most people think Hamilton's skyline photographs better then Ottawa's.

You're probably right, I'm just getting defensive about my hometown . Unfortunately ours has a ridiculous height limit, is too tightly packed, is too boxy, and has too many federal government buildings (boring by definition so the people of Canada can't complain about the Feds spending too much money....though I don't think that less expensive has to mean less interesting but it does in our case).

good points. I didn't realize the government doesn't build 'flashy' bc they would appear to 'rich'. Instead it looks 'soviet'. Even Moscow's skyline is 'flashy' now. What's that brown sand-castle box structure in the foreground. That's so wrong.

Ottawa needs more mixture, with some condos. Just like Niagara's skyline is criticized for having just hotels. Ottawa's is almost all offices.
