Where in Calgary?

So some of you Calgary SSP forum members have been here in Calgary for a bit and as such, I'd thought I'd start up this thread that is sort of a hide and seek sort of thread except we're looking to ID the location of certain things/spots in Calgary that have been around for a while and that many of us have probably driven/walked by multiple times without realizing something unique was right before us.

So to start off this thread...

It's a statue, unsullied by wind, snow or rain, and has watched over it's road for over 100 years.

Post up your guesses - once ID'ed, I'll start another thread because I've got a few places/things that will be interesting finds.

Nope - one key clue, "unsullied by wind, snow or rain" plus the Centre Street Lions are still not 100 years old.

No, but you're so close - I believe she's outside and does experience rain, snow or wind..

When you say road do you mean railroad bed? There is that old rail bridge around there... But don't know of any statues inside something. Other than that Peterlougheed Building is old... Anything inside there?

Okay, instead of another thread I'll just add onto this one...

Here's a pic of a large human head sculpture in someone's backyard - the sculpture must be 7-8 feet tall. Post up the address where you think this might be in Calgary.

All I can think of is the unsullied in Game of Thrones...

Nice one Speedog! I was also very stumped. This used to be on my bicycle commute home, and I never noticed this statue.

844 22 Ave SE to be exact - stumbled upon this while cruising about Ramsay a coiple of years ago. Info on this sculpture...

Quote:
The sculpture was originally built in 1995 by Calgary-based F & D Scene Changes for the film GoldenEye, starring Pierce Brosnan as James Bond, and the big guy shows up in scenes with the film's villain, 006. The head returned to Ramsay, spent a few years in the parking lot of a gym, and was eventually purchased by a couple who moved it into their backyard.

K, this one might be real easy or not...

Where's the true Queen's Park in Calgary? Proper street address as it does have one.

The corner of 10 st & 32 Ave NW, little hard to pin a specific address as there doesn't seem to be a formal entrance.

Nope, that's the off-leash dog park. Google Maps has it wrong as well.
