FORT LAUDERDALE | Broward County Courthouse | 20 Floors

Hi All,

You guys didn't realize know that I have heard they are going constructed new Broward County Courthouse. They will have 77 courtroom, attorney general office and etc.

They already began construction in late-August 2012. IT will take approximately 2 or 3 years to be completion. The old parking garage has already demolished it. They going have brand new parking garage for 1,000 vehicle right across the street.

^Wow is that unfortunate looking. It looks like it could have been built in the 60s and had a facade renovation since then. Yikes.

Yeah, Austin is planning a 14-story one. We're hoping for the best.

Well more than two years after topping out the building is still being worked on.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — Already a year behind schedule, officials say Broward County's new downtown courthouse building still has no firm opening date.

The SunSentinel reports (http://bit.ly/2dg80NK ) the $262 million structure has been beset by several problems including unexpected utility work, troubles with pedestrian crossovers and judges' requests for changes in various rooms. Changes were made to all 75 courtrooms and some hearing rooms.

Broward County officials now say they hope the building will be ready by year's end. Even then the move-in process will take about 90 days.
