Taipei | Yihwa International Hotel | 160.2m| 42fl | U/C

They change some detail of the project, so the rendering is quite different.

It's funny how the rendering from the government has the slogan...
"Taipei Beautiful" >>> poor English

At least throw a verb in like "Taipei is Beautiful"
or "Beautifying Taipei"

Thanks for posting this William, can't believe they are building this massive high-rise hotel in the area where buildings are only one-third of its height

actually william said some city councilors are protesting the height and want to reduce it. i'm all for building hi-rises in taiwan but maybe when in low-rise areas it's not a good idea. i'm just happy this complex is decent and contemporary and has lots of glass!!

The buildings will block some view of the ferris wheel.

In around that area, the buildings are around 5 to 10 story tall, but in the recent years. You can see more and more 20+ story sticking up here and there blocking the view of the mountain...

Taiwan doesn't have urban planning, but only urban developing focus.

Government department has approved this project and it has passed environmental impact assessement application. The developers has started this project. Now what they are doing is site preparation I think. The excavation will start soon.

Can anyone give a Google Maps link to the location of the project? I will add it to the skyscraper maps if so.

This is an expensive piece of land, might as well build it right the first time with high rises. Yes, love the glass...esp. when you are from VanCity, our downtown is full of glass!
