So, I finally got around to reading that link Hill Country provided. Where exactly will the split-level restaurant they mention toward the end be located?

I believe it will be on the opposite (west) side of Waller Creek on Cesar Chavez. Directly across from the convention center.

Isn't that where 99 Trinity is going? There's a tiny pocket of land that might be between 99 Trinity and Waller Creek. Will be interesting to see how they utilize the space.

It's the tiny pocket of land that we're talking about, not where 99 Trinity is supposed to go.

I guess that would be where the food trailer court setup shop last year.

That's what I figured.

Man, this project is expanding beyond the original 3-acre lot. This little restaurant in addition to the 600,000 sf project across Red River makes this an even more exciting project. Hope they can realize their vision (and it isn't a giant eyesore).

It's still going through the approval process. There were a lot of updates in that regard that were attached to the site plan last week.

I'm already wondering what they'll put on that additional 1.39 acre lot they recently bought at the southeast corner of Cesar Chavez & Red River that allows for another 607,640 sq ft.

Yes. It was mentioned upthread, but here's a link:

MG Properties and The Sutton Company Acquire Adjacent Parcel to their Waller Creek Project Adding 607,640 Buildable Square Feet to the Planned Development

edited to add: Goldenboot first posted about this on February 11 with a link to the story in the Austin American Statesman in this post

They're already planning three towers that include all possible components: residential, hotel, office, and isn't there street level retail in part of it? ... plus that restaurant across the creek. What more could they possibly want to do?

I suggested that it's possible they will use that lot as staging and storage while construction is going on for Waller Park Place then eventually develop it in the future. I doubt that anything will go up anytime soon at least until Waller Park Place is complete and could be longer.

Hmm. That's a good possibility.

Cool. I don't see any files with heights yet, but in the past they have added them later after it was approved. I hope they do, because I'd hate to have to track down all the heights for 3 buildings.

Yes! So does this mean we'll be seeing renderings soon?

It better. A groundbreaking announcement should be coming soon too.

Wow, so excited! That area will look amazing once this project, the Fairmont, and possibly even 99 Trinity are finished.
