Mandatory organic waste sorting has caused rats to skyrocket in my neighbourhood. My condo had to put up extra protection, and my work bought things to put under the door to make sure they can't squeeze through (they can always squeeze through). Although I am also near the port/Burrard inlet so it was always a thing.

When I worked at the port I'd see ones that were big enough to be confused for raccoons at about 4am.

^ Great Winnipeg set!

On the subject of Rats, Alberta has had an extremely aggressive anti-rat program in place since the 1950s, which is why you will see virtually none in the province.

Yes, I somehow feel a west mountain MTL vibe myself.

Love the YMCA building and St. Vlad in Hamilton. Small buildings that make the city. Zombie walk in Victoria yesterday with 2,000 participants.

Wtf.. is this like half dog/half human?

And a theme going on here, dear me:

VictoriaDailyPhoto

Victoria neighbourhoods are overrun with deer - leading to a controversial cull proposal, and now cougars looking for easy prey, which is making parents uneasy.

National Post picture and story here:

A tremendous story.

Ontario cops and animal control personnel have proven to be unwilling or simply incapable of tranquilising urban interlopers of this sort - they tend to shoot first and ask questions later.

That building really stuck out to me too.

The side view reminds me of the Regina Inn (I liked the shape of the balconies before the recent renovation more).

That kind of mind-numbing wall of the same pattern is really interesting to me.

There've been more and more Moose wandering into Regina, sometimes quite close to downtown (there is a park/path system that cuts right through the city diagonally). Also pretty dangerous, those are absolute giants. Takes a couple tranquilizers and then they transport them back outside the city.

What's the purpose of the sphere? It looks neat and I like it... but just curious what's going to be in there?

In that last picture, why is the LRT so long? I thought the longest was 4 cars and that one has at least 5.
