I'll be at this site for a couple weeks setting up the self-rising core formwork for Webcor. I'll snap a few pics and share.

I'm thrilled that this project is finally going forward! I'll take some pictures as soon as I get the chance.

Not the best shot but we can see what has been happening onsite. I am a little concerned that there is so little retail in this neighborhood for all of these residents.

We jumped the exterior SKE 50+ core formwork today and are working on assembling the inside "Super Climber" system.

How long does that take? Also do you know how many days per floor it is going to take once everything is up and running?
Thanks!

Physically jumping the forms only takes a couple hours. The rest of the time in each floor cycle consists of framing, reinforcement, MEP penetrations, and concrete placement.

If you meant, "how long does it take to set up the interior system"... All together we could finish it in a week or less with a dedicated crew and crane time. Contractors usually cannot do that though, so we'll be here on site for about two and a half weeks.

they've put the green in Rincon Green (and surrounded it with a fence, so this angle will likely not be available for too long):

Two Rincon

Great pictures guys! It will be interesting to see the tower break my skyline view in the Civic Center.

I assume the construction will be the same type as Rincon One. It is the only type of building construction in the city in which a the building basically hangs from the core. I have seen this type of construction around the world in my travels. The city planning commission had reservations about it at first.

Yes, Jerry, this tower will also have the tuned mass damper which the Supervisors initially rejected (but then approved after further study by Planning engineers) for the first Rincon tower.

These will be the only two towers in SF with this device, which is not uncommon internationally. Among the many skyscrapers with tuned mass dampers are Taipei 101, Comcast Center in Philadelphia, WFC in Shanghai, Fernsehturm in Berlin, Burj al Arab in Dubai, Bloomberg Tower and Trump World Tower in NYC, and Landmark Tower in Yokohama.

hruski, what's so funny?

Jerry never fails to mention that he has skyline views in each of his posts. He alludes to his apartment's location and height within the body of his post at every opportunity. I think it's very funny.
