Looks good. Better than a parking for sure. It will also help rationalize that corner in terms of an "entertainment district"

I'm guessing after the Plannig meeting and then city council approval . So probablly around March april.. Looks like the city planning is requesting the remove the Poydras entrance to garage which will probably mean additional retail space

Also we are now getting some sort of an idea of whats replacing the Home Depot on Carrollton.

Not really a part of town that gets much development talk, but do you know what is being built on the I-10 Service Rd. in the East? They've put down quite a few pilings.

Also, it looks like they are testing pilings on Bullard in front of the new Walmart. Any whispers on this? <-- never mind. Saw on your tumblr it's a Wendy's.

I'm new to the forum, but have been watching and reading for several months. Excited to see so much going on in the city. Thanks for the postings. Many of us ex-dats watching your blog, very grateful it's all online. Thanks especially for the pics and links to the new developments.

That seems like a fantastic idea, and a good location to bring some new energy. I could see sound being a concern with neighbors, so we'll see. But at least they have the overpass there to separate, and it's next to Lakefront Airport (with little air traffic of course). That at least might lessen the impact in neighbors' eyes. As a city, we need to use the shores of Lake Pontchartrain more. It's so underutilized.

Any more details on the location you are asking about?

I'm impressed. They only have one location now - Milan. They're opening a few others in Europe soon, and we're getting 2 of the first 8 US locations. Actually looking at that list and another article (http://www.4hoteliers.com/news/story/13766), NYC is getting 3, NOLA is getting 2, and Chicago, San Francisco, & Seattle are each getting 1. Great to see we're a launching point for this, although it's not necessarily a game changer of any sort.

For those of us without a City Business subscription, where are the two sites?

The airport finally exceeded pre-Katrina passenger numbers in 2014. Growth of 6.3% over 2013 numbers. The airport should exceed 10 million passengers in 2015 given growth trends over the last couple of years.

Here is the press release.

Maybe not a gamechanger but it shows the changing traveler thats coming to New Orleans. Hip brands launching here for their debuts stateside is great. Ac Hotels and now Moxy, heard Virgin and Yotel are coming as well but not sure where.

I saw an awesome facade mockup this morning at Woodward's facility on Earhart. Tons of Cor Ten steel. Anyone know what it could be for?
