Overland Park was where a lot of KC suburbanites wanted to be back in the 90s. I used to live not too far from there as a kid in Lawrence. Went to Lawrence High. I think Lawrence is now in Kansas City's CSA now if I'm not mistaken.

I've left off states where I don't have a strong opinion, in some cases because I haven't seen much of the state. In some cases, I've listed a favorite even though it might not be if I had seen more of a state. E.g., I list Chapel Hill, NC even though I might like Asheville better if I had been there.

Texas - West University
Louisiana - New Orleans
Mississippi - Gulfport
Florida - Vero Beach
Georgia - Atlanta
North Carolina - Chapel Hill
Virginia - Richmond
New York - NYC
Pennsylvania - Philadelphia
Rhode Island - Providence
Massachusetts - Boston
New Hampshire - Portsmouth
Oklahoma - OKC
Arkansas - Eureka Springs
Kansas - Mission Hills
Missouri - St. Louis
Minnesota - Minneapolis
New Mexico - Santa Fe
Arizona - Prescott
Colorado - Boulder
Nevada - Boulder City
Utah - St. George
Wyoming - Jackson
Montana - Helena
Washington - Seattle
Oregon - Portland
California - Santa Barbara

If we are talking bigger cities, this question really only works for some of The States with multiple large cities. You can count Canada as one entity because of our low population.. Ontario, is the only province with more then 2 choices for decent sized cities.. Most people will choose NYC for New York State, and ditto with Chicago for Illinois. Where it gets interesting is States like Texas, California, and Ohio. Maybe a question like "what is your favourite city in the Canadian Prairies, Great Lakes,American Midwest or West coast" would yield more interesting results??..If the Eastern seaboard was a category on it's own, I myself would pick Philly and I have been to NYC in my limited travelling experiences.

Good point. Possibly even favorite big city, small city, beach town, mountain town categories if we want to get really specific

Is that West University Place? Really? I mean, I know *officially* it's a separate city but, for all intents and purposes, it's basically just a neighborhood inside Houston.

ETA: And it's a notorious speed trap, at that!

I once spent a night in Needles during my drive from Tucson to SF. Now I just drive straight through. Need I say more?

But you may be short-changing everyone's favorite California city: Barstow.

Baker is Better. Home of the "Mad Greek" gyro stand and near Zyzyx exit. As far as Needles goes, you should drive a bit north and visit Laughlin and Bullhead City, or Lake Havasu area with London Bridge. Bizarre in an interesting way.

Fave Arizona city...Flagstaff and/or Sedona.

Interesting old Nevada towns in the middle of nowhere....Eureka, Austin, Ely, Beatty, Pioche, Hawthorne.
