A walk up into the hills of Millbrae takes us to Crystal Springs…

And finally to Sweeney Ridge...
We start off on the east side, with views of the Peninsula communities along the Bay shoreline.

Burlingame, home to airport hotels…

San Bruno Mountain and South San Francisco, “The Industrial City”

Colma, cemetery town

And San Francisco, as the fog rolls in…

We reach the crest of Sweeney Ridge to see the rest of Pacifica beneath…

We end up back down by Mori Point and Sharp Park, where I was lucky enough to spot some endangered California red-legged frogs lounging around.

Epic Weekend, Part 2: America’s Cup World Series, Regatta 2
2012.10.07

Part 2 of the epic weekend… They pushed back the start of the regatta races because of the Fleet Week air show, which meant some really nice lighting, especially as the sun began to set, and some choppier waves. I also had better position than the first regatta races, so these photos turned out much better.

Epic Weekend, Part 3: Italian Heritage Parade 2012
2012.10.07

Started in 1868, making it one of the oldest Italian-American parades in the U.S. Nowadays, it’s held the Sunday of Columbus Day weekend, putting it right in the thick of Fleet Week. Not necessarily a parade person, but the Peroni float was awesome.

Epic Weekend, Part 4: Uniqlo Launch
2012.10.07

The store actually opened on the Friday before (2012.10.05), but this was my first chance to actually stop by. Lines were ridiculously long for the first week or so, and I never actually made it inside until the following weekend. This is Uniqlo’s first West Coast store, a large flagship spot (former DSW store) on Powell Street in the heart of Union Square, right across the street from H&M and down the street from Urban Outfitters.
