There aren't any basement floors on TDC, as it is above a metro line. The parking mech etc... will all be above ground in the podium.
Isn't there a 2 storey sports bar in the basement anymore?

La Cage aux Sports has indeed a basement...

That's my earlier point: The Bell Center's ice rink is at least 2-3 below ground. When we enter it, the rink access is over level 100 or 200, with 300 and 400 above... (those who went there to see a show or a game will know what I mean)

^ Good point, I never thought of how low the rink was. I've never entered the building from St-Antoine, is it even below that entrance?

I think it's at rink level, or close to it...

Actually, St-Antoine connects to the first of the two parking levels, with another one below... The rink is then in the middle, between St-Antoine height and Canadiens Ave...

The metro is 27.1 m below St-Antoine, and is under the railway tracks so I guess there is plenty space for some foundations...

If the parking is over land instead of below, it might be due to lack of spaces, or interference with the Bell Center support beams...?

What I meant was - on drawings I saw earlier this year - there were plans for a 2 storey sports bar is the basement of this tower, not in the Bell Centre

I think the big sports bar coming in the area is at l'Avenue or maybe Roccabella...

AFAIK, there is nothing much planned for the TDC ground floor - a small lobby in the middle of a parking.

There is/was a plan for a sports bar is in the podium as far as I know, although I am not 100% certain of its status now.

I thought it was an old sign until I saw this:

Look at the picture... Maybe a typo or a mistake (the initial project was 61 floors), but this was posted today, it says it on the sign.

Ils ont juste mis les caractéristiques de l'ancien projet sur le panneau par erreur je crois (61 étages, plus de 700 condos)... Décevant quand même...

and it's lucky that cadillac-fairview didn't go for 60+ stories, it probably saved at least two buildings that are in/about to enter construction.

At 61, it would have clocked 204m. Bummer.

Damn I got so excited at the prospect of a signature 61-storey tower for ground-zero Montreal. Habs, OT!!

That's not a very big space for such a huge building.

Il devrait y avoir une annonce pour une deuxième Tour des Canadiens (et peut-être une deuxième tour à bureaux de Cadillac Fairview) bientôt, selon la page Facebook de la TDC.

Tour des Canadiens plus two
September 18, 2013. 1:10 pm • Section: Real Deal
Posted by: Allison Lampert

Montreal might now be a buyer’s market for condos, but you wouldn’t know it from the way the developers of the Tour des Canadiens are talking.

Canderel Group, and Cadillac Fairview Corp. Ltd, builders of the sold out residential tower next to the Bell Centre, now have plans to construct two more buildings south of St. Antoine St. – one of which would have 378 condos and 230 parking spaces. The vocation of the second tower isn’t yet decided, but it could include a mix of residential development and a hotel, documents filed with the city of Montreal’s downtown Ville Marie borough show.

Apparently, the original Tour des Canadiens sold out so quickly, developers were left with a list of 5,000 potential buyers interested in the project. Even if the majority of those buyers simply signed up to meet Habs legend Guy Lafleur at a sales event, there should be enough interest to fill at least one other tower.

[...]

According to city documents, the new Tour des Canadiens towers would be built between St. Antoine, Torrance, de la Montagne and and Jean-D’Estrées Sts. The area is now a mixture of parking lots and five existing buildings – which would be demolished – located on land mostly owned by Cadillac Fairview. One of the lots, now owned by the city of Montreal, would have to be purchased by the developers, the document says.

378 condos and 230 parking spaces

0.61 parking spaces per unit? In the core of downtown right next to a metro station and train terminal? You've got to be kidding. The parking ratio should be no higher than 0.3 in such a location, if that. I hope the next mayor of Montreal takes on the issue of parking and imposes some sensible parking maximums.
