Your photo updates are top notch TallCoolOne. Thanks very much for your efforts.

The foundation hole for this one rivals CITC.

i saw them assembling this from the vine street expressway Saturday. I saw so many cranes when driving through the city going to NJ, its crazy. They are taking down the crane at the HUP building after all these years.

The design team knew the rock was there from the geotechincal borings that were performed. Ownership decided to go ahead and excavate it rather than sacrifice the underground parking.

Three levels underground. Mostly parking.

Sorry if the pic is too big, maybe someone can give me a hint how to make it smaller for the board.

From around 15th & Vine.
Not above ground, but look at that crane! [/IMG]

This is going to look sick.
We need more good lighting on our buildings, and masonry construction in general.

Is it just me or is this project taking an extraordinary long time?

Quality construction takes time. I'm not complaining at all. Better than putting up a shitbox Home2Suites in a year and a half.

Its the rocky subsurface materials. It wasn't just dirt down there and its been a slow process to get the site excavated for underground parking garage. East Market isn't moving much faster and they have been at it for a while.

That building was 8-9 floors- I would expect it to be completed far faster than a 32 floor apt tower. Aside from the fact that there is underground garage here I don't think anything about the design has any bearing on why they have been working below ground for so long.

I assumed he meant on the Temple construction, not the tower.

The construction of the meetinghouse is giving me flashbacks to the construction of Citizens Bank Park.
