Memphis: "Never Forget"

I was in Memphis for a day and a half and got to see a good chunk of the city though I didn't take many photos. The two parts of Memphis I was most interested in visiting before I arrived were the Civil Rights Museum and Orange Mound, the first neighborhood built by free blacks for free blacks in the entire country. The other areas featured in this thread are Downtown, Uptown and South Main.

To say Memphis has soul is to say the sky is blue.

missed this one. downtown memphis is kind of under-rated in the sense that it has pretty darn good bones.

Damn, Philly, STL, and Memphis lately. All wonderfully gritty cities that I love. I envy you. Thank you!

I like Memphis, it's where that southern curiosity begins that I find charming. The old quarters of the Midwest can be a little distant and stare-into-the-whisky-y, so I kind of like when someones like HEY YOU!

No shots of the pyramid? Darn it! Nice set. I like how the vanishing point leads straight to downtown in #9.
