Right across from the Duchess of Markham, my destination in the summer of 1990 to watch a key World Cup game. A couple of km's before the pub I got pulled over going 83 km/h in a 50 km/h zone. The officer was also a footie fan and he let me off when I told him where I was going as that is where he liked to watch the World Cup.

Bramalea Road in Bramalea, Brampton. Runs from Caledon down through Brampton and terminates at YYZ in Mississauga.

What about border roads like York Durham Line and Burloak (Burlington/Oakville)?

Avenue Gatineau, Gatineau

Nothing to write home about. Can't decide what it wants to be, so like so many streets of this city is a jumble of SFHs. apartment blocks, industrial uses with big trucks, daycares, doctor's offices, bars, pizza places, hunting and fishing shops...

I know that probably sounds good, as in "real city" to some people, but it's not. Believe me.

This building looks like it's covered in patio doors.

At least in the Ottawa-Gatineau region, some of the former communities got streets named for them when they ceased to exist as municipalities. This was as a result of efforts to eliminate duplicate street names.

For example, the main street in Buckingham was called Rue Principale but the new city had another one that was a major road in the Aylmer district. So it got renamed Avenue de Buckingham.

The Masson district also got a Chemin de Masson. Can't remember what it used to be called.

And in Ottawa there were multiple Main Streets. So they kept the one in central Ottawa as Main Street. And the renamed the others Stittsville Main Street, Manotick Main Street, etc.

Nice touch actually.

Ottawa has an Ottawa St. way out there in the SW rural part of the city, because the City of Ottawa swallowed up the community of Richmond. Which had a street named for the road that led to then- far-away city of Ottawa.

There was an Ottawa Street in LeBreton Flats, it was the first street parallel to the aqueduct.

I once lived at the point in which Chemin de la Côte-Saint-Luc becomes The Boulevard (right at Montreal-Westmount border). I had a hell of a great view from my balcony....I could see Jay Peak (Vermont) on nice days.

Edmonton Street
Sherbrook Street (lost the "e" at some point - likely named after the person rather than the town)
Brandon Avenue
Qu'Appelle Avenue (named after the HBC post, I assume)
We've got almost all of them covered - provinces and major cities.

Our eponymous street is quite unusual.

Windsor Avenue leads directly to City Hall (which has been demolished since this image was taken). The new City Hall is currently under construction adjacent to it.

https://www.google.ca/maps/@42.31575...7i13312!8i6656

North of City Hall, the street informally continues as a walkway:

https://www.google.ca/maps/@42.31837...7i13312!8i6656

and then continues as a public square:

https://www.google.ca/maps/@42.31834...7i13312!8i6656

and then continues as a greenway:

https://www.google.ca/maps/@42.32030...7i13312!8i6656

You can see this building's address is listed on it as 250 Windsor Avenue even though there is no actual street named Windsor Avenue anywhere near it (it's adjacent to the public square though).

Edmonton has Alberta Avenue, Scona Road in the Old Scona neighbourhood, Malmo Road in Malmo Plains, Lakewood Road in Lakewood, Knottwood Road in Knottwood, Millwoods Road in Millwoods, Terwillegar Drive in Terwillegar and so on. Nothing Edmonton as far as I can tell.

Nothing directly in Calgary although there is Bowness Road which runs through the old town of Bowness which was annexed by Calgary in 1964.

There are several roads named after other towns in Alberta. Edmonton Trail, Banff Trail, Morley Trail, and McLeod trail for example.
