I'm so pumped -- This is the missing piece that downtown's been needing to really take off!

You're right downtowner. Anyone who doesn't see that is blind. Developers are already lining up to build close to the billboards.

It's no Times Square but it should be interesting. It will be a nice detraction from the parking garage. Remember, Times Square is mostly billboard advertising with some digital/LED signage and isn't the LED signage really geared toward CityScape? When are they going to start putting up the LED billboards on CityScape?

Nothing like a Napoleon'ish forum gremlin moving everyone's posts around in the middle of the night because they don't think where they were posted is acceptable.

/sarcasm

Nothing like the regular forum troll complaining on account of his own laziness and error. =P

I had meant to comment that the things don't look like lights but guides for a platform like window washers have--maybe to install the actual panels--but I apparently forgot to press reply. If they were print billboards there'd be an additional access platform built somewhere in the vicinity, and I don't see that in the photo.

COOL!!!! I was just DT and they have the scroll lit up. Bright colors and sharp looking. They only have test numbers up, but it is very eye catching. Will be sharp!

The rest of the framing is up and so is one panel of a billboard.

^ Wait, so it is print and not digital? That's a stinking heap of bullshit. I'd take the unadorned garage over that.

Isn't that what I said? There are light masts on it, those would not be there if it were digital.

Yeah, WTH?? That garage isn't horrible, the faux windows look OK from a streetview perspective. Now they're going to cover up the entire garage with billboards. It'll be like a wall of billboards?

Why not do that on all of the empty lots downtown? Line the street with a two-story billboard wall so it hides the empty lots from view.

That looks horrible. I actually like how the faux windows look better than the billboards...thought they were just going to cover up the top part and leave the windows there. Bleh.

VLJ, I thought the light poles were temporary guides for a platform to install the LCD panels like they hang window washer platforms from.

David Cavazos should be tarred and feathered. The biggest accomplishment of his career is selling out the city-owned garage for a bunch of massively ugly shit?

Fuck everything about this.

looks like almost all of the signs will be static printed signs. only a few LED boards, and surprise surprise one right in front of my home.

So they are going to cover the beautiful Luhr's Building/Tower with a fucking static billboard?

possibly. I'm not fully understanding the legend though because they show yellow, green, and pink, but then they have all those blue spots.
