Thug is usually absent from council meetings.

Doug Ford had third-worst attendance, missed 53 per cent of 2014 city council votes

Doug Ford fooled us once, but again?

"There's an old saying in Toronto— I know it's in Texas, probably in Toronto— that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again."

Quote:
“You think Rob is polarizing and a headstrong bully? Take a look at Doug and you see the evil half of the diabolical twin . . . a smiling assassin . . . Rob spouts respect for taxpayers, Doug can’t stomach them. . .

Yep, when the city of Toronto asks itself, well there can' be anyone worse, there might actually be.

I notice that some media reports today are referring to Rob Fords "tumours" (i.e. plural) rather than "tumour".

Yeah, does not sound good for Rob Ford. If he has cancer and it has spread to the lungs he is in serious trouble. I feel bad for him now, I don't wish cancer upon anyone. Not even the worst of the worst deserve that.

No one deserves such a terrible fate. As wacky and in some ways destructive as the Rob Ford wild ride has been, I'd be sad if it came to an end for such an unfortunate reason.

Based on Rob Ford's lifestyle cancer wouldn't surprise me. It's actually kind of shocking he lasted this long. You can't abuse your body like that and not have some consequences. I do wish him recovery though.

Few people would want to wish such a terrible fate to Rob Ford. I want to see him go; I don't want to see him die.

Generally the live hard rock star thing kicks out before 45.

We wish Rob the best in his recovery because no one really deserves that.

I had not heard of liposarcoma before. The doctor mentioned finding a node "behind (Ford's) left hip". Given that this is a cancer of the soft tissue, does that mean what I think it means? I guess no part of the body is immune from cancer.

That is the secondary tumour. The main tumour is in the soft, fatty part of his gut. 12cm by 12 cm according to the news.

Yes, what intrigued me was my surmise about the location of the secondary node, based on the oncologist's comment. I will say nothing more as it's too soon and I don't want to burn in hell.

Toronto has dodged a bullet with this, but it seems like the punditocracy have stayed classy for the most part. Sympathy and best wishes all round. Though the subtextual sighs of relief are so obvious you'd have to be tone deaf not to hear them.

As much as Rob Ford is one of the vilest bastards Canadian public life has ever known, he will probably end up a sympathetic figure. If not a cautionary tale.
