The Impact announced they are creating a new club, Montreal FC, that will compete in the USL Pro league. The club will consist of players between the age of 18 and 24 so they don't jump directly from the academy to the MLS and be overwhelmed.

One could easily use such logic on the CFL too but it would be pointless to take this conversation there. On this page we have people from Quebec, Ontario and BC commenting on their MLS teams, so it has clearly got a following across the country (I know of people in Saskatchewan and Newfoundland too who follow Canadian MLS teams). Not to mention the rapid growth in popularity of this sport in our country.
I think what will bridge the gap coast to coast is the pyramid growth not a national league.

Watching Actual Canadians climb from USL-NASL-MLS, I think will be as relevant as making the Europa league, College football, or even the Juniors at XMAS.

Vancouver versus Seattle. A true darby. 55000 people. Shown nationally in both countries. Rivals since 1974. Seattle is the best team in the league. The winner becomes the regional champion (Cascadia Cup). Vancouver is reigning champion.

Vancouver is pratically sure to qualify for CCL next year since they now have a 6 points lead over Toronto.

I wouldn't be surprised! As soon as the corner was awarded, Ousted got the crowd going, everyone got to their feet and started to make a lot of noise. 20 seconds later Waston put the ball in the net and the decibel levels skyrocketed. It was a pretty good example of home field advantage actually.

Playoffs start tonight: Vancouver in Dallas. We've never won in Dallas in 4 years but history means nothing! If we win then we will battle a home at home with our next door neighbours Seattle! EPIC!!
