Not close. This site is close to 5th Ave; One57 is close to 7th Ave.

This site in reference could become extremely tall if the full assemblage is made. There are two other potential tower sites on 57th between 5th and 6th Ave.

Does anybody else feel that with all these supertalls poping up around central park, that in a few years the skyline could look unbalanced from that point of view?

What's up with that ugly little pos white building with no windows? That should be torn down and a Supertall built right there.

That's the Museum of Art and Design, quite a nice little museum with an amazing collection. It relocated there in 2008, and is a reclad of what was originally a much worse exterior. Check it out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Museum_of_Arts_and_Design

Is the crane stuck? I would have expected to see it coming down much faster...

You'd think they'd want to get it down asap.

Especially since hurricane season is once again upon us. Only a few more days and it was a year ago since the crane disaster.

Umm, no. Those buildings are what give the border of Central Park its character and historic image. Build supertalls one block to the south like they did with One57, but not right on the freaking park.
