This is really a horrible development and a waste of our last piece of undeveloped waterfront property. This comment from the developer on their Facebook page shows there is a bit of hope that some mixed-use buildings might go in...

The site was re-zoned in the 70s for 13 high-rises to be built there.

Maybe they're just testing the market and will add some highrises in another phase? (I can dream.)

Someone fought against the 1970s zoning a few years ago and won. It was changed so that there will be no high-rises.

Right down the street from this development they just installed a crane. Does anybody know what is going in there? This development is at Green and Lake Ontario, the development with the crane is at Millen and Lake Ontario.

I don't know if the Waterfront Trails condo building has started yet, but I noticed some of the townhouses are starting to pop up.

^ What I thought was the townhouses, was actually the condo building. It's already topped out.

There's only 6 units left in Coastal Condos. New Horizon is getting ready to launch the next phase, Sapphire Condos at Waterfront Trails.

Those look surprising western. Reminds me of stuff they had in Banff area (although Gatineau does have a few similar buildings too).

Yeah the dark colour palette and 3/4 storey height and wide footprint looks distinctly Western Canada. I spent time in Canmore/Banff and a lot of the new developments around there look like this
