That's why I suggested it, you can see it from everywhere. I have an early memory of staying with my mom's aunt when I was a kid, and you could see it from the window on Campbell Ave.

Speaking of golfing, another great view of the city is the Pippy Park Golf Course. I've only played it a handful of times, but honestly, its an absolutely amazing location for a course. I wish it wasn't government run, because if a few of the holes were changed and the conditions were higher quality, that course would be unreal.

None the less, well worth a trip to take some photos if you have the time / desire. Just walk the holes, you'll get some very interesting views.

Sounds fun.

There's another cruise ship in port today. It's been a busy week - three in total.

Between now and October. St. John's is scheduled to have 9 more cruise ship visits. Here is a link to the cruise ship schedule.

All the shops, restaurants, coffee houses, etc. must be salivating thinking about the potential revenue generated from cruise ship tourists over the next couple of months.

By the way, is rush hour in St. John's always as early (3:30 - 4:30) and as bad as it was yesterday? I never drive at that time but I was ready to put it in park right in the middle of the street, say **** it, and walk home.

When I worked at Atlantic Place, leaving downtown anytime between 4:30 to 5:30 was hell.

I'm surprised that its that bad around 3:30 though. Might be government employees and summer hours? I'm really unsure.

Peak traffic seems to be around 4-4:30 pm, with the roadways fairly cleared up around 5:15, though that may change now that all the little kiddies are back at MUN for the year.

Hey everyone,

So I tried a quick and dirty attempt at placing the three west end downtown buildings together in one profile. I believe this may have been done before (maybe Jeddy or Marty?) but I wanted to give it a go myself. I'd really love to be able to add 351 Water in the diagram as well but its LUAR is different than the rest and I can't find a properly scaled rendering to add.

There are, however, a couple of caveats:

1. The LUAR for each building has slightly different view-plane angles so placement the pasted buildings (Fortis and Deacon) may be off.

2. As you're well aware, a new proposal has been issued for Hilton Garden Inn and not only will the building look different, it's placement will also change. I wanted to keep the older design in to get a feel of its presence and added density.

^looks good! This was actually something I was going to attempt to do myself not that long ago, but with some actual photos I had taken of downtown. However, I forgot that my photoshopping skills were sub-par and gave up fairly quickly

It's shame that we don't make more use of the habour front.

There's been a little progress but not much. It looked, yesterday evening, more or less the same as in the previous photos.

I knew someone else produced the same rendering but I couldn't remember who or what page of the thread it was on. I just wanted to try it out myself.

Yeah, it's almost like they think they're not supposed to be at it.
