New office park coming to Allen

Quote:
the Allen Economic Development Corp. and Dallas-based Peloton Commercial Real Estate are teaming up to kick off a $190 million office campus that will include a 300-room hotel and conference center.
Quote:
The development group has completed a rough master plan for Allen Central Park, with plans to start on the initial six-story, 150,000-square-foot building by the first quarter of 2015. The next building likely will be the eight-story, 200,000-square-foot building, which has gone through the design process.

Developers working on Turtle Creek office tower

Quote:
By Steve Brown
August 20. 2014

A Turtle Creek property that’s been in the same hands since the 1980s boom could finally be getting a building.

Developer M-M Properties is seeking tenants for an office tower that would be built on the empty, hillside lot at Turtle Creek Boulevard and Cedar Springs Road.

The commercial real estate firm – the same company that is an owner in downtown Dallas’ Comerica Bank Tower and Plaza of the Americas – has designed a metal and glass high-rise that would sit in front of newly built apartments on the site.

The tower would be more than a dozen floors and was designed by Houston’s Ziegler Cooper Architects.

M-M Properties CEO Ken Moczulski said “we need a lease to kick it off.”

The development site is one of the last vacant tracts along Turtle Creek a few blocks north of Uptown and the landmark Crescent complex.

Nothing concrete but it's in the works.

While the company has yet to sign a binding contract with the city, executives offered a best-case timeline: a development agreement this summer and a grand opening as early as 2017. - See more at: http://www.olivermcmillan.com/buzz/n....0m2h98PC.dpuf

I imagine you won't see anything until the Walton Walker/183 rebuild are completed later this decade.

Another Residential Tower for LoMac in the works

Quote:
Real estate brokers say that World Class Capital is in talks to buy the 1899 McKinney Avenue building at McKinney and Akard Street.
Quote:
World Class Capital is considering a residential tower for the roughly half-acre tract.

Back in 2001 another developer proposed building a 10-story tower on the site that would house luxury residential units.

The urbanism within this development looks (from the air) spot on.

Its manifestation of modern constraints - the highways acting as natural barrier like rivers or a steep mountain range might otherwise act - visually strikes me as odd, albeit comprehensible.

I definitely think they will go higher than the 10 stories that was originally planned.

OliverMcMillan does good work.

They are wrapping up their $1 billion Buckhead Atlanta project here, and I'm loving the way it turned out.

I agree. Haven't seen the Atlanta project in person, but they are doing a similar concept to that one here in Texas down in Houston and it looks nice.

Dallas Cowboys Hold Ceremonial Groundbreaking in Frisco

Quote:
“Our goal is to have balls in the air in the fall of 2016,” he said.

The city of Frisco, its Community Development Corporation and Economic Development Corporation are kicking in $60 million to build the multi-use event center while the school district will contribute $30 million. The Frisco EDC is contributing another $25 million for the team’s world headquarters. Any costs above that will be paid for by the Dallas Cowboys.
Quote:
The multi-use event center will be on 20 acres at the northwest corner of the site. The team headquarters will sit on about 5 acres. The remaining 66 acres at the intersection will be privately developed by the Blue Star companies affiliated with the Jones family.

Just spent a week in Dallas last week....for biz and pleasure...
SO impressed with what has happened to that city in the 24 years since I moved away in 1990....!
Spent a few days at friends' home in Preston Hollow, and those neighbors aren't really happy about that development....IMO, it isn't much different from the buildings across NW Hwy....
