For that building us the same technique that you did for the 2nd New World Trade Center. Talk to JSR about the technique. It should work, you just need to tweak it so its looks accurate to the Smurfit-Stone building. Just a thought

I had thought of that. But the facade of 2 WTC lends itself well to that technique, whereas the floor plate lines of the Smurfit-Stone Building are too prominent for that sort of vertical construction.

Looks like the 1x1 trans-clear tile has finally made the jump from queue element to retail! It's only in two limited release sets for the time being; LEGO House and Trevi Fountain.

Very nice!

I started designing a building and then looked on line for parts. They don't make what I want in the color I want. Ugh. So frustrating. I wish Lego Designer would go back to only showing parts that were actually available.

Bank of America Tower Atlanta

I'm thinking about trying to build the Bank of America Tower in Atlanta in micro scale and have a few questions for the guys on here who build them. Is this an ok building to start with or too complicated? The crown seems like it will be the hardest part. I plan to design most if not all of it in LDD. I'm guessing this is the right way to go. What do you think about colors for this building? I was thinking reddish brown and trans dark blue but don't really have a clue.

What am I missing? I know it is going to be a lot of work but how much would you estimate for a first timer.

FYI, be careful with LDD. It allows you to color bricks with colors that they don't make. They took out the function that let's you only use real bricks.

Looks like a great one to start with!

The crown will absolutely be the hardest to get right at microscale. Honestly, off the top of my head, I can't think of how to do it. I think your colour choices are good.

The random placement of the tiles really helps. I've seen where builders use different color tiles underneath to simulate depth

ATLskyline - that looks great. I want to make this building in that scale as well.

My latest stuff:

1180 Peachtree in Atlanta

This one is inspired by 500 5th Ave in NYC:

Nice! Maybe you could add some bars attached to the undersides of the plates along the curve to cover up some of the structural plates there. Cool design overall though, for sure!
