Thanks for posting the video. I love when the camera goes forward through the orange netting. My brain can't quite comprehend the transition from dusty construction site to THAT view.

^ Those views are awesome. Imagine walking over and looking down on the Empire State.

It's like a maze, I would have expected more open space.

I think visually, that image is deceiving. If you look at the numbers those rooms are huge and with the high ceilings, I am sure it does not feel mazelike at all.

Those floor plans can be altered a bit, depending on who moves there.

So I was driving over the throgs neck just about 10 minutes ago (don't have a picture) and I took a look towards the skyline and was absolutely blown away by how dominating this tower is. It stands out so prominently. Couldn't be more impressed. I can't wait until she's neighbored by a few more not so gentle giants

It's almost shockingly tall when seen on the skyline.

So... when do you think this will drop into my price range? 100 years?

Great views, but the design of the building itself is pretty pedestrian.

There are going to be a lot of different viewpoints on this. Personally I love the design. You say pedestrian, I say simple, sleek and elegant. NYC already has the all-glass supertall and it already has the art-deco supertall. It has plenty of spires, angles, crowns and step-backs. I love that it isn't yet another take on an all glass supertall. The lighting is going to be terrific. A great addition to the New York skyline.

This makes 1WTC and the Empire State Building look small when viewed from 1,300 feet.

When 1 Vanderbilt is finished, in 6 years or so, we'll be able to look right back at those penthouse units.

Here's a view from that NY Times piece...

Well it depends.
If you can save a million dollars a year than yes.

Puts things into perspective, doesn't it? I'm happy if I save $30K a year. A LOT of people struggle to save $10K a year if they save at all. To have the kind of money to plunk down on this and be able to swing the ongoing expenses ... well, that is just way out of my league and hard to fathom.

I struggle to save 5k a year if that. I cant even imagine how uncaring and despicable these people could be to drop 60 million or more on a condo they probably wont even live in. Im glad they built this just because its epic, but I want to punch the people in the face who buys these condos. Most likely the same people who buy our politicians through super pacs to fight against single payer healthcare and keep low wages for Americans in order to make an extra few million a year for themselves.

Not likely. With inflation and price appreciation, in 100 years, these units will likely be going for well north of a billion.

I wonder if the living room faces the Empire State, that'd be sweet.
