Just need to hope that the +11.2% improvement on PP and PK combined this year over last year continues.

The NHL already got their man when they suspended that thug Cogliano...

Winnipeg comes back from a break week with a 2 - 1 shootout win over Calgary. Nice victory as Smith nearly stole it for the Flames.

They looked really solid in that game, even though goals were hard to come by. The skill level on the Jets is off the charts - those moves by Ehlers and Laine were something else. As Bob Irving tweeted today, Blake Wheeler should be serious Hart Trophy candidate this year. Calgary seems to have righted their ship, which is good to see.

Great game by the Oilers. Maroon is a machine.

Freakin' awesome, got Coffey on the payroll, along with Lowe, MacT and of course Gretz. Just need the Mess, Kurri and Anderson and our coaching staff will be exponentially that much better than every other organization.....

It was nice to end our four game losing streak by beating Ottawa on their home ice in a come from behind victory.

Oilers coaches

I think you meant to say if the Oilers get all their former players as coaches , the coaching staff would be better than the team !!!
Lol

That was some pretty bad coaching by the Flames to gift the extra point to the LAST PLACE TEAM IN THE EASTERN CONFERENCE!!!!

Statement game by the Oil - "We really do suck". It almost seems pointless for the Oilers to get another superstar like Dahlin. They don't have room for him unless they unload another superstar. The Oilers have reached the saturation point with high end talent, and they're still terrible. Almost shocking.

Yup, but I guess at least we didn't lose 5-0 to them...

Edmonton's road penalty kill is first overall in the league at 86.6%. Their home penalty kill is the worst ever recorded at 54.2%.

The team is a paradox, Oilers fans need to start bringing some away jerseys to the games.

Sabres sweep Alberta, good on them. Got to start a streak somewhere.

The team is something.

I'm just at a loss as to how they can win 60% of the faceoffs, outhit the other team almost 2-1, only be outshot 34-33 and then be a -3 on the powerplay chances and lose 5-0. They really are last year's Jets. Can we get a witchdoctor up to Edmonton to remove the curse now?

The Oilers are going to make a splash before the deadline.

Something like Nuge + Nurse + 1st for OEL + Domi

I can't articulate how much I like seeing the Oilers sh@t the bed after all the bravado from their fan base over the summer. McJezus looks average ...not "generational" and they continue to build on the old boys network in management which leads me to believe there will be no turn around for years to come.

It wasn't just their fanbase, it was every sports reporter, all of the predictions pointed in their favour and even non-Oiler fans were convinced this was the team to beat.

I thought they were going to contend assuming Talbot kept his play even somewhat close to where it was last year.

Most Calgary fans here were quite optimistic about the Oilers severely regressing though.
