Just drove by, They are tearing up the parking lot. There's also SkyHouse Houston signs on the fence that say "Coming Spring 2014"

The camera is now up and running. Looks like it's been placed at 1301 Fannin, looking to the southwest. They're definitely starting to clear the site.

Don't blink during the construction or you'll miss it. The one in Austin broke ground in October and is going to be topping out in a few weeks. I can't believe how fast it's gone up.

In the camera view you can see the "Savoy Houston" building. What's the status on that? I love that building!

Per bisnow, apparently the groundbreaking ceremony was held last week. Considering they're already clearing the lot, I'm not going to be shocked if the reports of speedy construction pan out the way they appear be to elsewhere.

SkyHouse is in the Ground

SkyHouse Houston is officially in progress—we stopped by the groundbreaking last week to snag the shovel shot. Novare Group prez Jim Borders (dead center) says the project may have set a record for pre-development—it's been in the works for seven years. The 336-unit community will deliver in one year, an unheard-of speed. You can read more about the project here.

From the webcam today - the building next to the site has almost completely been cleared out and the base of the tower crane has been installed...

Is it Chinese snap-together?

The image for the building is "generic", taken from the Atlanta SkyHouse. Any renderings yet on what this building will actually look like?

Pouring the first floor columns this week. Its already going up fast! The foundation on this one should have been complete about two weeks ago. Its a drilled pier foundation so not much to it. They'll come back and pour the slab for the ground floor later.
