Nice and I only live just 19 miles north of the Siemens plant (its in Florin which was once a farming community that got swallowed up by far south Sacramento), just wanted to say either that train or another will likely be on the way to the testing site near Pueblo Colorado before heading off to Florida.

Why test in Colorado? It's the same basic diesel locomotive except for the nose. Railcars can be tested on the FEC tracks in Florida.

Yeah that can be true but the Transportation Technology Center that's northeast of Pueblo on Colorado's plains is a traditional place where new trains are tested before entering revenue service. Although FEC does have nice new smooth track that I believe has a stretch that's grade separated where trains can hit 125 mph for a short bit..

Fantastic pictures! Here's AAF's official video of the first trainset being completed in California:
Video Link

I noticed that at 0:12 seconds that the cross-section shape of the cars is wider than the locomotives. It's strange to me that a trainset built entirely by one company doesn't match up better. I mean, it's a very small thing but I had thought they would be designed to look seamless.
Still, very cool that the trains are starting to roll off the assembly line! Exciting times!

^ Nice and good to see that it made it home thanks for the update-sometime I'd love to get a tour for my family of the Siemens plant since we only live about 25 minutes from it (its in the Florin part of south Sacramento).

Oh just a question that tall tower in the downtown Miami station plan-is that going to be an 800 footer or more?

One Miami Central was approved @ 80 stories for a height of 991 feet | 302 m. above ground, or 1,000 feet above sea level. Construction hasn’t started yet, but it is expected to include 600,000 square feet of office space, along with 250 hotel rooms and 280 residential units.

^ Thanks for the info bobdreamz-Miami looks like it's really getting a nice wave of cool new towers-kinda like la Toronto Miami style. That new Brightline train looks awesome and sometime I'd love to get a tour for my family setup at that Siemens plant which is only about 25 minutes from where I now live.

Is that MiamiCentral station and Brightline system really going to open mid-2017, as in roughly 6-8 months from now????

How integrated are the Metrorail and Metromover stations going to be into this larger complex? Direct skybridges?

Really? Have they started construction on the Orlando route yet? I realize this is a private project and can be done much faster than public projects but these dates aren't far away at all. It does kind of seems to me a line to Orlando would eventually want to go a bit further than just Orlando airport but to the Disney World campus. I mean are people really going to fly into Orlando airport to take a train to Miami?

I seriously think this project is one of the most incredible and groundbreaking developments that's happened to rail/transit in many, many decades, but I'm curious, when this first phase opens, its the same corridor as Tri-Rail at a much higher cost to ride (albeit a better coastal route and faster)? I'm just a little concerned it might have some disappointing numbers when it first opens given its public competition in a state so auto-centric to begin with. Eventually I can see Tri-Rail and Brightline being complementary but initially I see some concerns. I wish them the absolute best, this has the potential to be AMAZING.
