I'm envious of your trip. The Hudson valley is so historic and scenic, with plenty of urbanity along the way. I drove up back in 2008 and hit both sides of the river. Big fun.

Wonderful set, thanks mrnyc.

Thanks for sharing your photos! I've been to both Cold Spring and Beacon and have really enjoyed both towns. Did you get a chance to check out the ruins of the West Point Foundry in Cold Spring?

Beacon and Newburgh! When I was a kid, I would spend every other summer with family in New York (my dad is from New York City and I have family in the area) and I remember going to Beacon, Poughkeepsie, Hudson, Kingston, Rhinebeck, Saugerties, etc., and I can remember laughing at the name Catskill, which was a mountain range, a park, and a town. I also remember someone saying the Tappan Zee Bridge was dangerous. I've often thought Beacon would make a great thread on the forum. When I saw the name of the thread, I was checking for Beacon and there it is! Thank you for sharing this! Very awesome!
