They're moving right along. Foundation work is the one part of a tower that I hate, but at least they aren't having to deal with bedrock.

Yep...you're welcome. The courtyard area (Piazza Bergamo) you see in front of the construction site from the direction my update pics are taken will be turned into this: http://www.greenvillesc.gov/Planning...zzaBergamo.pdf The city is paying $4 million for it.

Lots of stories today-

Greenville New Markets Opportunity ("GNMO") LLC announced today over $18.5 million in below-market financing for Project ONE, a mixed-use development located at the corner of Main and Washington Streets and developed by Hughes Development Corporation. An IMPLAN analysis predicts Project ONE will provide 544 direct, indirect and induced temporary jobs during the construction period, and 672 permanent jobs created and retained during operation. Also, over $6.9 million in federal, state and local tax revenues will be generated annually: http://www.marketwatch.com/story/gre...its-2012-01-17

According to WYFF, the second floor columns will start to rise beginning tomorrow. A floor will be poured every two weeks: Huge Project Takes Shape In Downtown Greenville - Photos - WYFF Greenville

Public meeting regarding Piazza Bergamo's plans will be held on February 1st: http://www.gsabusiness.com/news/4237...s-design?rss=0

A little off-thread, but is that Luna Rosa in the background? Best gelato I've ever had.

Also, do you know what happened to Stellar Wine? I checked the website a while back and it looked as if the place closed.

Yes it is. Stellar Wine closed unfortunately and the space is now an upstairs area for Trio.

**OT regarding this development but it looks like a major hotel is in the works for a site along East Washington Street (currently a parking lot) less than two blocks from this site and just across the street from the 100 East project. The site is now under contract according to the Greenville News. Starwood and Hilton are the rumored hotel chain groups that are looking to possibly locate here. More to come.**
