CALGARY | Eau Claire Tower | FT | 99M / 325FT | 25 FLOORS

Formerly called Centennial Place III the this tower is pretty close to construction so I thought I'd put it in the proposals section

Glazing looks cool, but she is a whale.

Yep! Another "Wide Load"! 300' tall 300' wide..... I hate it. Think of the shadows comming from the width of the building! 10 floors higher and 100' narrower and it would be a nice building.

There were rumors of a planned highrise increasing height. Guess this one wasn't it.

You're probably thinking of Herald Square. It's original design was 223m and 51 floors, but rumors are they are increasing the height.

My sentiments exactly. Even if they increased it to 30 floors and the same square footage it would look much better. I love the glazing though.

Some more news on this one. Not surprising, as a GC has already been awarded and the tendering process was already under way.

CALGARY — One of Calgary’s fastest-growing thermal oilsands producers will be the lead tenant in a new 25-storey office tower announced Thursday by Oxford Properties Group.

The 600,000-square-foot Eau Claire Tower is to rise over downtown Calgary and be connected to two existing Oxford towers with 11 of its floors occupied by MEG Energy Corp.

If the MEG Energy floors in Centennial are a glimpse of the finishing in this building then all I can say is this will be something special on the inside.

Any word on when this is supposed to start now that MEG Energy has leased a good portion of the building?

It shouldn't be far off now.

Site clearing has begun on this one. It won't be long before we see a shovel in the ground.

In the words of Freddy Mercury, ba ba bump bump bump...another one bites the dust.

Another parking lot that is.

This one is pretty banal for the most part, but I'm good with it. We have some excellent proposals coming into Calgary, so a little filler here and there doesn't hurt.

The disappearance of a parking lot will be good. I wish this parking was developed with a low rise building (3 or 4 floors) and the extra office space went to some other taller tower, but this is still decent.
