Update thanks to Lincolndrive

A lot of progress on site! Curious as to when they will install the tower crane.

Wasn't the commercial building suppose to open this summer? At this rate, I would say it opens in the winter....

Was driving back yesterday and saw crane parts on the northwestern part of the site. Not where I was expecting.

Should be going up any time now.

i was about to say there should be a crane here soon, this has been underway for a while. At the project on chestnut the crane was up within weeks of the site being cleared. Then again, they seem to be using steel for that building instead of concrete.

I remember watching Morgan Hall go up from my window and the process seems similar to this building. As I recall they were on the 4th floor before they put up a tower crane after spending a lot of time in the ground.

So this will make, what, four tower cranes currently active in University City, with a fifth (FMC) hopefully soon to come?

So lancaster square, this, market building, what other buildings going up? Besides FMC which doesn't have a T shaped crane yet.

Edit: I also noticed you can see this project from the lancaster square webcam!

Yes for sure. There was 6 cranes up at once in UCity. We're down to 4 now, but should see a few more going up.

What's sad is we're down to one tower crane in Center City now that 1900 Arch crane was removed. We should see a few more cranes going up in Center City over the next few months however.

This, Lancaster Square, 3601 Market and the Penn Medicine South tower building all have tower cranes up.

Considering most of the confirmed projects in CC havent even started yet (comcast ctr being exception) I think 2015 will have to be the year when you really start seeing some crane density in CC. Its almost august and none of the new construction residential high rise or hotel projects have started yet. If everything stays on track by next year we should see buildings going up at Lit Bros, W hotel, 1601 Vine, 20th and Market, 22nd and Spring garden, Broad/Spruce and near 23rd/Locust simultaneously.
