Houston's gaining another tony apartment project. A luxury midrise apartment project called Azalea Court broke ground this month, located at the northeast corner of Westheimer Road and Mid Lane.
Situated on 11.2 acres directly between Highland Village and the River Oaks district, Azalea Court will include 645 units in an eight-story building and a 17-story tower. Azalea Court is the first phase of a mixed-use project. Financial details about the project were not disclosed.
Houston has tons of these mid rise, block encompassing developments going on. I'm very impressed with the quality of them too. I love the street level (Shops, tree lined sidewalks).

The problem is they all seem to be separate, self-contained units that bear no relationship to each other. And there's no creativity to them. What makes this one different are the additional highrises. Kind of like Ballston in DC.
