Hmmm, so it appears that the Tour des Canadiens across the street has added two floors to become 50 floors. I wonder, is it possible that they could do that here in this tower as well, adding a few floors, or does its non-rectangular design preclude this?
When this project was first announced it was said that 7 more floors could be added if the sales were good. I don't know if its still in the works though. But with l'avenue reaching up to 167m now, I wouldn't be surprised to see an Increase here too !
Rumour has it that the office portion of l'Avenue (the podium) has already been signed up by TD, and that their logo will be placed on top of the tower. That will mark the first time TD will have its logo on a Montreal tower (the 14 storey TD building in old Montreal notwithstanding).
I wonder where they'll put the TD logo? At the top of the podium or at the top of the entire building? I think the podium might be a better spot.
I bet they will want a sign up there to compete with the CIBC, Banque Nationale or Scotia who have signs high up on their buildings. As to RBC, they just can't do it on iconic 1 PVM (as TD can't do it in their Mies tower in Toronto), and BMO maintains its old Montreal former headquarters.

I'm just not sure where they would put it. The only side that it might look ok on is the north side.

I know that BMO is for all practical purposes run out out of Toronto, but the Montreal building is actually still the official headquarters of that bank.

That building in old Montreal is as official a Headquarters for BMO as PVM is for RBC. That means, not much. Same thing can be said for the alleged Headquarters for Air Canada:
I agree that Bell and Air Canada perform a lot of head office functions out of Toronto, even though they keep more in Montreal than RBC and BMO, I would think.
On another topic, that Bell move from downtown, atop a busy metro station and close to everything, to Nun's Island is a disaster from an urbanism perspective. It reminds me of those head office moves from Manhattan to Connecticut some years ago because the CEO didn't want to commute from lower-tax CT to NYC and thus forcing everybody else to commute from the city. Disgusting.
I expect no less from Smell Canada and Glare Canada, and BMO (Ben Mulroney Obnoxious)

Not quite. The Montreal building is the head office for BMO Bank of Montreal. The rest of the head offices within the BMO Group are spread between Chicago and Toronto with the focus being on Chicago/Milwaukee (BMO Harris Bank). Soon Toronto and Montreal will share in the nostalgia of "official headquarters".
