^^^Very COOL!
It's extremely difficult to find photos of the Tribune Tower's Observation Deck.

Thanks for posting.

Love the one above with the shaft of one of the two Marina City towers underconstruction. What a shot.

Crilly Court in Old Town. Looks pretty similar today, except for the cars.

Thx for posting the great pics Busy Bee.

Does anyone know what this 1962 photo is depicting?
It looks like a bank in the middle of expressway construction.

Stunning. I would trade all of the post-war skyscrapers in this city for just half of the commercial street frontage that has been demolished. Hell, just give me the corner buildings.

I think it's still there on Harrison.

Another streetscape that is 100% gone:

Good thing they compensated for the removal of Ogden by widening North Avenue.

^^^
That stretch of North Ave is shameful in it's current state. It's a suburban parkway in the middle of the city.

A glimpse at what Woodlawn was before the Blackstone Rangers bombed it.

This was on the NW corner of Stony Island and 67th St, overlooking the park.

Now a one story bank with a drive-thru:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sour...,0.018454&z=16

It survived until sometime between 1972-1988.

This was located on the SW corner of 60th & Stony Island. It too survived until sometime between 1972-1988. It remained a prairie until sometime between 1998-2002, at which point the site was converted into a surface parking lot, which remains to this day.

This was located on a triangle parcel at Woodlawn/64th/Minerva. It survived until sometime between 1988-1998. It remained a patch of prairie until sometime between 2005-2007, at which point it become a partially-landscaped surface parking lot: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sour...2.69,,0,-13.79
