As the person who actually took the original Houston photo in that comparison shot, I just have to point out that that's not a puny freeway, that's just a part of the I-45 / I-10 interchange just north of Downtown.

Here's a shot of another Houston freeway.



And we have bigger ones than this as well. That's Downtown in the distance at the far right.



BTW, as a native and longtime Houstonian, I also have to say, LA is more interesting and exciting and I'd live there if I could afford it.

Nice shot of the Uptown area and, since you brought it up, I've been to both Houston and L.A. and I never saw any freeway in Houston I would ever describe as puny. Huge, colossal, and massive came to mind, but certainly not puny!

It was very much a joke.......although I think LA freeways are the biggest in the country, not that that is anything to be too terribly proud of...

It's the Battleship Texas in LaPorte, right across the road from the San Jacinto Monument & Battleground.

I really should check this thread more, the compilation you guys have going is quite impressive!
