Wow. Hell of a thread. That starving woman juxtaposed with the "great leader" slurping from an oversized wine goblet is almost too much. Still, there's a lot of beauty in NK.

Do you ever see mysterious North Korea?
I visited the DMZ last July, so I did see the border areas, including Pammunjeon, the Gigantic NK flagpole, and that Hyundai industrial park just inside NK. Plus of course, mountains.

strange and interesting, the people there are probably just as curious about what the rest of the world is like as we are about what goes on in such an isolated place

North Korea always seems to me like what China was about 20 or so years ago. People in there actually lead perfectly normal everyday lives, although the society on the larger scale is somewhat constrained by government repression and interactions beyond their boundaries are limited. Extreme examples of wealth and poverty are I think propagandas pro/against the regime. Similar things exist everywhere in the world too.

I really dig those uniforms.

Not so much the starvation and oppression, but those are some nice uniforms none-the-less.

so is the ultra conservative belief of fascism...

So the point is that the extremes of the left and the right is bad for society. The Far Left doesn't suck alone, so does the far right.
I don't want people on the right to say oh look the left is so bad, when they have a similar equal as well.

Both fascists and communists made the economy controlled by the government by nationalizing companies and regulating wages and prices. It doesn't matter what side, the point is free markets and democracy are the way to go.

Where else would I host my annual meeting of minions?
