A basket weave between Southland and Anderson would likely help (particularly from a safety perspective) but IMO the main bottleneck is the southbound two lane section just before the bridge over the Bow river and the two-lane section northbound just before Anderson merges onto Deerfoot.
Also the bridge over Glenmore Trail is a two-lane bottleneck in both directions.
It would be good to get any Deerfoot upgrades done while traffic volumes are still (COVID-19) light . . . but I don't see anything happening that quickly!
