The site plan for Union on 24th went into review, and more info was posted online. The floor count was not listed, but this will be another 300 footer because it will have 503 residential units. That is the apartment count - not the beds count that is often listed for student housing. It will have a parking structure and 4.5K Sq. Ft. retail as well.

These buildings' exterior look cheap which is perfect for high density, low cost student housing.

Wow hadn't been by San Gabe and 24th in a while, Freedman's is really surrounded! Anyone know if they still plan on re-opening when construction is finished? The brick structure next door is nice, wonder if that will be more retail/restaurant or just the building's lobby.

The site plan for the Chelsea apartment building was posted for AULCC. It ended up being only seven-stores with three underground parking levels.

Historic Landmark Commission hearing for 601 West 26th Street. This says it's a 215 unit building, so that should be a fairly tall high rise. Moon Tower is 165 units and the Standard at Austin is 287 units.

They're asking to demolish the building on the corner which was built in 1890. I really wish they'd leave the building and build around it. It's a neat little building that was a grocery store for the first half of its life and then converted to apartments.

I found some info on the height a couple weeks ago, but I didn't post it because it didn't appear to be a tall building. But I'll see if I can find it again.

EDIT: I don't know where the info I saw is. But the site is just inside the area that allows 300' buildings.

The HLC approved the Demo. The structure was significantly modified 50 years ago and deemed not historic.

It's not often you see lenticular clouds over Austin.

Or anywhere else? The photo was zoomed in from Mt. Bonnell and taken about two weeks ago.

Colorado has it's fair share of lenticular clouds, but it has to be the right weather conditions.

Just went by 1000 W 25th St and found that the old Chelsea Condos have been demolished. Anybody know what's coming next?
