It doesn't look like it has any ground floor retail on Second Street, although it's hard to say with the trees in the rendering.

I wish the north-south axis of the tower was squeezed to make it narrower and taller.

Love all the development going on in this city! Can't wait to see what the skyline will look like in the next 10-15 years!

Here's a shot of Trammell Crow's marketing brochure. It shows two retail spaces. All three of their other towers have 2nd St retail as well.

New renderings of 5th + West. Dallas-based GDA is the architect. Now one of my favorite projects for Austin.

^^ How interesting. You wouldn't think 5th + West was going to very exciting judging from that first angle, but by the time you make it to the third angle, it's clear that that's going to be one helluva sexy tower! Way to go Austin!

^The stacking plan I saw for it shows it having 37 floors, and it would be 452 feet to the mechanical penthouse and 425 feet to the main roof. It would be our 5th tallest at that height today.

Here's a better rendering of the site plan for Green Water. This one is from an August 2013 presentation to investors. The green is retail, and the light green marked "amenity" is listed in the legend as "Amenity/Potential Retail". The purple, blue and yellow are listed in the legend as hotel, office and residential lobbies, respectively.

I've been trying to keep up with Austin's U/C and proposed projects. Here are two lists I put together. If any of you Austin experts see anything I need to update or add, let me know. (I'm not bothering with mid-rises and developments outside of Downtown, because who has time for that?

Here's the U/C & S/P list:

Here's the list of proposals:

I am actually really liking 5th + West. Has this gotten approval? I expect it'll break ground by late summer.

I love how Austin is creating density in the inner city, I hope all of the current proposals get built.
